International Sociological Association (ISA) is a non-profit association for scientific purposes in the field of sociology and social sciences. The ISA was founded in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO. The goal of the ISA is to represent sociologists everywhere, regardless of their school of thought, scientific approaches or ideological opinion, and to advance sociological knowledge throughout the world. Its members come from 167 countries

The Research Committee on Social Stratification (RC28) was established in 1968. RC28 general objectives are to promote high quality research on social stratification and social mobility, and the international exchange of scientific information in this field.

The Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary, is an internationally recognized, non-state institution of post-graduate education in social sciences, humanities, law and management, accredited both in the United States and Hungary.
