The high-level 'Women in Science, Innovation and Technology in the Digital Age' Conference the 6-8th March 2011 in Budapest is jointly organized by the European Commission Directorate General for Information Society and Media (DG INFSO) and the Hungarian EU Presidency in collaboration with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) and the European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT).The Budapest Conference 2011 is co-financed by the European Commission Directorate General for Information Society and Media (DG INFSO) and the Hungarian EU Presidency.

The European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) established in 2008 is a multi-stakeholder partnership (of 70 key organizations) representing high-level expertise in women and technology development from business, government, academia and the non-profit sector with the goal to measurably and significantly increase the number of girls and women in ICT and technology. National Point of Contacts of the ECWT in Norway (where the Secretariat operates), Spain, Greece, Italy and under start-up in 2011 in Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary and Sweden play a key role in supporting women's full participation in the knowledge based economy and implementing the Commission's Digital Agenda and the Europe 2020 Strategy through leveraging resources and research, through innovative services, rolling out best practices, benchmarking and monitoring.
