Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
Following three successful Master Classes on Surgery of the Spastic Upper Limb in 2019, 2021, and 2022, the course has evolved to address the needs of specialists at different levels of expertise. In 2023, we introduced BASIC and ADVANCED courses, which were very well-received and filled up very quickly. We are now excited to announce the upcoming editions of the course.
The BASIC course: 23-25 October 2025
This course is designed:
- for Hand Surgeons, Orthopedic, Plastic, and Neurosurgeons who want to gain knowledge and technical skills in surgery of the Spastic Upper Limb
- AND for Rehabilitation doctors, Neurologists, Physio- and Occupational therapists who want to increase their skills in Upper Limb Spasticity, and their awareness of the possibilities of the surgical treatment.
Day 1:
Full day of lectures on Upper limb spasticity: definitions, clinical examination, diagnosis, medical and para-medical treatment, surgical treatment, complications, post-op regimen...
Day 2 and 3
- “Hands on” for surgeons: participants will practice the main surgical techniques themselves, under the guidance of international experts,
- “Hands on” for rehabilitation specialists: participants will be guided through clinical examination, cadaver demonstrations (anatomy and surgical procedures), dedicated lectures, and will practice ultrasounded guided botulinum toxin workshops
Throughout the course, there will be combined sessions with discussions and presentation of numerous clinical cases.
SPECIAL RATES FOR TEAM REGISTRATION: 1 surgeon + 1-2-3 rehab doctors / physio / occupational therapists.
The ADVANCED Course: spring 2026
This two days course is designed for SURGEONS with some previous experience in Surgery of the Spastic Upper Limb, who want to increase their practical skills, and confront their knowledge with international experts.
Surgeons participants will perform all the different types of procedures for the entire upper limb, (hyperselective neurectomies, muscle-tendon lengthening, tendon and nerve transfers, wrist arthrodesis…), including the most recent and sophisticated techniques.
Throughout the course, multiple Clinical Case presentations will trigger discussion with the experts on diagnostic and treatment. BRING YOUR OWN CASES!
