It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Budapest and to the PREVACT Expert level conference on Member States' Activities on Nutrition, Physical Activity and Smoking-related Health Issues, jointly organized and co-financed by the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission.
The conference will bring together leading thinkers across the disciplines of nutrition, physical activity and tobacco control and it promises to be a lively and interactive meeting.
We have created a unique scientific program with the aim of updating policy makers, health professionals and researchers involved in public health by challenging them with new ideas about effective and sustainable strategies, infrastructures and actions aimed to tackle the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases. The scientific sessions will also examine how this knowledge could be utilized by policy makers to inform and generate new thinking and ways of preventing NCDs both in the old and in the new Member States. The program also offers plenty of opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues for informal discussions and collaborations.
On behalf of the Conference organizers we would like to extend our warm welcome to you in Budapest.
