Winners of the European Drawing Competition announced!

The National Innovation Office (Hungary), the European Commission's Directorate General for Information Society and Media (DG INFSO) and the European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) - the organizers of the European Drawing Competition for girls around the theme of 'European girls draw the future of ICT' have received 672 drawings from Romania, Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Malta and Hungary.

Children of the age group 6-12 sent us 384 drawings. We received 288 drawings from girls between 13 and 16.

The winners and runners up of the competition will be informed by the organizers on the 25th of February.

The award ceremony with Commissioner Neelie Kroes took place on Monday the 7th of March 2011 in Budapest at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

The awards of the winners were sponsored by Hewlett Packard.
The awards of the runner-ups were sponsored by Ericsson Hungary.

Deadline of submission: 20th February 2011

The aim of the competition is to encourage creativity in the field of new technologies and highlight the importance of developing innovative skills at an early age.
